Difference between raster and vector

The main difference between vector and raster graphics is that raster graphics composed of pixels while vector graphics composed of paths.
Raster file formats consist of GIF, JPG , PNG , etc. While Vector file formats consist of SVG
Raster are usually used in photography or print materials while vectors are use in 2D or 3D computer animation or laser engraving.

List of computer aided design software :

2D

Raster: Composed of pixels

  1. GIMP

  2. Photoshop

  3. Krita

Vector: Composed of path

  1. Illustrator

  2. Inkscape

  3. CorelDraw

3D

  1. Inventor

  2. Fushion360

I have chosen to use Inkscape and Fushion360 because I have used Inventor before, so I decided to learn how to use Fusion 360, since it will be beneficial in the long run.
Inkscape offers a rich set of features and is widely used for both artistic and technical illustrations such as cartoons, clip art, logos, typography, diagramming and flowcharting.
